Early this year, the world was faced with a challenge that was not anticipated about the COVID-19 and this has affected all sectors including the education sector that has for time formed the core of ICDL Activities in Africa.
To try and mitigate the adverse effects on ICDL activities in training and certifying candidates, ICDL came up with a solution and developed an online solution that would keep the Digital Skills training and testing running and in an efficient way while maintaining our quality standards.

ICDL Skillsbox team has been in the forefront developing and supporting the online solutions and we have already started using the platform developed by availing learning materials to our candidates in form of e-books and after they are ready to sit for the certification exams, we are able to offer the exams with remote invigilation platform to maintain ICDL Quality Standards.
Having piloted the solution in Rwanda, while observing social distancing due to covid-19 virus pandemic breakout, Institute of Accountancy Arusha (IAA) became the first Accredited Test Centre (ATC) in Tanzania to start testing on the new testing platform (Skillsbox) . The testing started with a group of five of (5) candidates and this will be a one-week session from 15th to 24th April 2020.
The plan is to adequately prepare the twenty two (22) trainers at IAA and get ready for ICDL training when schools like other activities resume.
End.
