ICDL activities started in 2013 under ECDL Foundation.
When ICDL Africa opened an office in Rwanda, it took over Nigerian activities. One of our biggest Accredited Test Centre, E-Tech Complete Solutions introduced ICDL Africa to the Government of Nigeria and a Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TEFDUND) was established to disburse, manage and monitor education tax to government -owned tertiary institutions in Nigeria. The TEFUND has established an ICT support intervention designed to deepen the leverage of information and communication technology in Beneficiary Institutions which makes ICDL relevant and preferred digital skills standard.
E-Tech has in 2019 signed a Local Office Provider agreement with ICDL Africa and they are now managing all ICDL activities in Nigeria.
Nigeria currently has twenty-two active Accredited Test Centres.
