ICDL Africa concluded the training and certification of the first group of 45 teachers in Eight ICDL Modules. This is a project under the Africa Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS).

Under the project, a team of 90 teachers will be trained as Trainers and they will then roll out a program to train and certify 4,717 other Science and Mathematics teachers in the country. The training was also attended by two staff members from the Rwanda Education Board who are considering integrating ICDL as a course for all teachers in the country.

The group of 45 will in the coming days take the Train-the-Trainer Programme and start to train other teachers. The second group of 45 teachers under the master trainers’ group will take the training and certification in November when the schools go on vacation.
