Inauguration the First ICDL Accredited Testing Center in Côte d'Ivoire

The Accredited consultant for  WIN Africa and the Technical partner of ANSUT (National ICT Agency) on the ICDL project, held the inauguration of its 1st ICDL Accredited Testing Center in Côte d'Ivoire, in the presence of Honorable Minister Bruno Koné, Minister of Communication, Digital Economy and Post, Spokesperson of the Government of Côte d'Ivoire, President Hamadoun TOURE, Executive Director of SMART Africa, Mrs. Yacine BARRO BOURGAULT, West and Central Africa Director of MICROSOFT, Central Directors and the Ivorian press. This ceremony follows the Digital After work organized by ANSUT this Friday, April 20 th; In its premises . Authorities were able to test the ICDL test platform for a national rollout of the international standard in Côte d'ivoire.  

In his remarks, the Executive Director of SMART Africa, Dr. Hamadoun TOURE, highlighted the importance of digital literacy in the youth and the chance to strengthen the jobs creations.

“The main idea he defended is this: unlike previous generations, today, African youth has the same opportunities as global youth anywhere in the world. If you create the same ecosystems for the explosion of digital talent, the African youth will be able to express themselves more and impose themselves in the digital world of today. Give a computer and coding training to a young African, he is able to work miracles because the opportunities are the same. Governments need to put in place policies to foster the emergence of digital culture in Africa for not once again, to miss this historic turning point. Africa must be ready” He said.

In the Pilot, ANSUT will train and certify their 100 workers . By 2019, the project will go everywhere in Côte d'ivoire, as national deployment with dozens of thousands of civil servants that should be certified. They have a plan of 100 workers before the end of 2018 for ZNSUT workers to be certified.
