In collaboration with ICDL Africa, the Rwanda Management Institute held an open day event on June 29, 2017. The event was meant to promote the Institute's activities especially ICDL Certification.
The Rwanda Management Institute is the main implementation agent of the National Digital Talent Policy. The policy aims at certifying to an international standard, digital skills of the Rwandan population. The Rwanda Management Institute is mandated to certify the public workforce and thus a key ICDL Africa ATC.
The minister of Labour was present at the event. She congratulated RMI for having chosen ICDL an international certification of good repute. The minister stressed that all government employees need to go through trainings, whether they are already on job or those who are seeking for employment.
The representative from the Ministry of Youth and ICT was present too and expressed his pride to be one of the certified and trained trainers of ICDL. During the event, government officials mentioned even that it is no longer an option for employees or employers to have digital skill but imperative.
The event was a great milestone as it helped create awareness about ICDL certification programme arising from its huge media coverage.
