Specto and SOS Children’s Villages International recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding to accredit ICDL training and testing centers in Djibouti, Jordan, Morocco, Palestine, Somaliland, and Tunisia. Specto is the ICDL National Operator in seven Arab countries in the Middle East and North Africa, and is also the Accreditation Partner that is allowed to market ICDL in few more countries. In addition, Specto partners use its courseware and testing solutions in six other countries.
The MOU was signed in Casablanca, Morocco by Mrs Alia Al-Dalli (International Director, SOS) and Mr. Naseem Abu-el-Haija (Manager, Specto). The purpose of the MOU is to jointly support training and ICDL certification of SOS children, youth and mothers. According to the MOU, Specto will accredit SOS centers in the above countries to offer ICDL training and testing. Also, as part of the agreement, Specto will waive the accreditation fees and qualify 2 trainers per country by taking them through a workshop on ICDL modules. Specto will also give SOS ICDL Candidate Registration numbers together with Base & Standard module packs for free as gifts.
It is to be noted that SOS is a non-governmental social development organization that works in more than 130 countries to prevent family breakdown and care for children who have lost parental care, or who risk losing it.
