Print page

ICDL Africa was pleased to welcome ICDL Foundation CEO Damien O’Sullivan to the Annual ATC Forum in Kenya at the end of October. The Forum is an opportunity for key stakeholders in the ICT sector as well as ATCs from across the region to come together and discuss the developments in the ICDL programme, achievements of the previous year and opportunities that lie ahead for the coming year. This year more than 80 delegates were in attendance, including representatives from Nigeria, Tanzania and Uganda, alongside the Kenyan ATCs. The Kenyan Technical Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) gave an address on their newly established organisation and the need for all ICDL ATCs to be TVETA accredited. After the presentations and feedback session the ATC Awards were presented as follows;

• Outstanding Initiative Award - Nairobi Institute of Business Studies
• Operational Excellence Award – Computer Pride
• Marketing Excellence Award - Institute of Advanced Technology (IAT)
• Special Recognition Award - Machakos Institute of Technology
• Pioneer Award – University of Rwanda
